Plans are underway to airlift, some of the victims of last Saturday’s Tamale accident to Southern Ghana for proper medical care.
Hamza Jamani, Public Relations Officer of the Tamale Teaching Hospital told northernghana.com it is as a result of the hospital’s lack of CT scan and an emergency facility centre to handle their situation.
He said due to the nature of their injuries, the Ambulance service could not transport the victims to the referral hospitals, hence the need to airlift them.
Hamza Jamani revealed that the hospital authority was making arrangement with the Northern Regional Coordinating Council to link up with the Tamale Airborne force for an aircraft.
The Tamale Teaching Hospital PRO however hinted that some of those victims to be airlifted refused to be airlifted and said they prefer to discharged so that they could be treated with local herbs.
The hospital authority in collaboration with a team of young men has mounted search on three victims who absconded from the hospital.
