MILLS INSPECTS TAMALE TEACHING HOSPITAL PROJECT


President John Evans Atta Mills has commenced his four day working visit of the Northern Region to inspect ongoing development projects and commission completed ones that have been executed by his government under the better Ghana agenda.

So far, about 300 ongoing and completed projects would be inspected and commissioned by the president in the Northern Region alone within the four days.

President Mills arrived in Tamale on Wednesday April 27, 2011 and started his work by first inspecting the ongoing 43.9 million Euro rehabilitation and expansion works on the Tamale Teaching Hospital.

The project which started in April 2010 is expected to be completed in 56 months. Even though it is far from completion, the excellent and artistic touches of the contractors attracted massive commendations from the President.

President John Evans Atta Mills himself cut the sod for the commencement of the project and was awarded to Messrs Simed International.

Meanwhile, the expansion work will provide additional one thousand beds to the existing four (400) hundred, with staff accommodation, teaching and research facilities to befit a world class Teaching Hospital.
