The 30 children between the ages of 8 and 16 and the suspected child traffickers were travelling in a Bolgatanga-Accra bound Metro Mass Transit bus with registration number AS 9908 Y.

The Head of the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) in the Northern Region, ASP Sebastian Tetteh, led a team of Police to hand over the juveniles to the Upper East Regional Police Command.
