A
Twenty-four year old student of the Tamale Polytechnic in Ghana, Ms. Rita Alo
Awewutagi has received the 2015 Outstanding Achievement Award from the
Association of Business Managers and Administrators (ABMA) Education, a UK
based professional learning programme.
Ms.
Rita Alo Awewutagi was honoured by ABMA Education, UK for achieving the highest
result in HIV/AIDS Management in the whole of Ghana. She
received a Gold Medal with “ABMA Outstanding Achievement Award” embossed on it.
Ms. Rita Alo Awewutagi also received a Special Citation and Certificate.
In
showing their appreciation and gratitude to Ms. Rita Alo Awewutagi for raising
the image of the Tamale Polytechnic high, the school authorities organized a
colourful event of all teaching and non-teaching staff, management, students
and the media in honour and recognition of her (Ms. Rita Alo Awewutagi) and two
other students of the ABMA Education Programme, Ms. Annabel Y. Yakubu and one
Ms. Iddrisu Zubaida, who also perform creditably well in the ABMA exams.
The
Vice Principal of the Tamale Polytechnic and ABMA Contact Person, Mr Sulemana
Alhassan on behalf of the Principal and entire management and students of the
Polytechnic congratulated Ms. Rita Alo Awewutagi for coming out as an
outstanding student in the whole of Ghana and also for bringing the ABMA
Education Outstanding Achievement Award (gold medal) to the School.
He
encouraged the Award Winner to serve as an Ambassador of ABMA Education and
also in HIV/AIDS management in Ghana as part of her contribution to the fight
against the spread of HIV/AIDS.
Mr
Sulemana Alhassan said that about 48 students of the Tamale Polytechnic are
offering the ABMA Education programme and of the number, he was confident that
their jobs are already secured due to the international recognition the
programme has gained.

The
ABMA Education Coordinator at the Tamale Polytechnic, Abukari Abdul-Aziz Danaa
also expressed his appreciation to Ms. Rita Alo Awewutagi for making the
lecturers and the polytechnic proud. He said that the ABMA programme which is
recognized worldwide is developing students into professionals, managers and
administrators to feed the various businesses.
The
ABMA Education 2015 Outstanding Achievement Award Winner, Ms. Rita Alo
Awewutagi thanked God Almighty, officials of ABMA Education and the lecturers
of the Tamale Polytechnic for the knowledge, support, encouragement and
guidance given to her throughout her studies.
She
said that she opted for HIV/AIDS management programme because she had always
planned to support people living with HIV/AIDS and educate the society on how
to properly relate with victims of the disease.
According
to her, the Award from ABMA had further encouraged her to more and promised to
go all out to achieve her dream of supporting people with HIV/AIDS especially
those who are facing discrimination, stigmatization and no support from their
communities.
Her
Citation written and signed by the Senior Executive of ABMA Education UK, Alan
Hodson was read to her by the Senior Assistant Registrar of Tamale Polytechnic,
Alhaji Mohammed Aziz. “It is my great pleasure to inform you that you have been
selected to receive our prestigious ABMA Education Outstanding Achievement
Award for your performance in the June 2015 examination series. I am delighted
to inform you that you achieved the highest result in HIV/AIDS Management in
Ghana and we would like to congratulate you on this outstanding achievement.
You are to receive a medal and certificate that bears your name and your
achievement. This Award will be a valuable asset when applying for employment.
