NORTHERN REGION ACTIONEERS ASSOCIATION ANGRY

Members of the Northern Region Auctioneers Association have raised alarm over what appears to be attempts to sideline them during the awards of auction contracts to licensed Auctioneers operating in Ghana.

In a press statement signed by Chairman of the association, Mr. Issah Alhassan suspects some power blocs at the Presidency have their personal Auctioneers who are enjoying monopoly over all auction contracts awarded in the 10 regions.

He hence appeals to the Chief Of Staff Mr. John Henry Martey Newman to rectify the anomalies so that they the northern auctioneers will have their share of auction contracts to enable them play their respective role towards building a Better Ghana.

“We the registered members of Ghana Auctioneers Association in the northern region are pleading with you the chief of staff to rectify the anomalies associated with the award of auction contracts to ensure that we also enjoy our share of the national cake” he pleaded.

Mr. Issah Alhassan mentioned Wabsco Mart as one company which was awarded contract to auction unserviceable vehicles and equipment of the Community Water and Sanitation Agency and the Ministry of Food and Agriculture.

He questioned why the same company was awarded contract within the same period to auction unserviceable vehicles and equipment of Irrigation Development Authorities in most parts of the country.

Mr. Issah Alhassan cautioned against any attempt to award on contract an intended auction sales of vehicles of the Tamale Teaching to any auctioneer and demanded that it should be awarded to any member of the Northern Region Auctioneers Association.

“The Immediate former Minster for Health, Dr. Benjamin Kumbour directed that the Tamale Teaching Hospital auction contract should be awarded to Budali Mart who is a member of our association” he disclosed.
